Things to Know About Us
-
Sustainable training means applying the principles of exercise and sports science, while prioritizing best practices for overall health and well-being, in order to pursue your individual goals and longevity.
It means programming in accordance with the realities of your life and coaching in collaboration with you.
It means you are empowered to achieve NOW while building the capacity to achieve LATER.
So we’ve made it our job to suss out the training practices that really work. We do the research, we consult with the experts, and we gain the experience necessary to develop coaching and programming practices that are scientifically proven to be effective.
-
To help create a more inclusive fitness industry, establish an affirmative training space, provide for diverse bodies, goals, and needs, promote confidence and self-efficacy in ALL people, and secure for every individual the health and happiness they deserve, we strive to be, above all, a body positive, weight neutral training company.
This means that we celebrate the accomplishments of all bodies across all measures of progress without exception.
We recognize that discrimination based on body size is a pervasive issue that further contributes to the marginalization of Black and brown people, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and we strive to cultivate and nurture a space in which people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, backgrounds, body types, races, and religions are welcomed, uplifted, included, empowered, and given the opportunity to feel like the badasses they are.

Zach Greenwald founded Strength Ratio in 2014 as a fully individualized remote and in-person coaching service. His mission was to help athletes recover from injury and reach their performance goals through attentive coaching and scientifically informed programming.
In 2016, Rebecca Lee and Kyle Clechenko partnered with Zach to take Strength Ratio from a sapling start-up to a rapidly growing business. Together, they connected with more remote clients and opened the Strength Ratio onsite headquarters in their hometown of Asheville, NC.
As their client base grew, so did Strength Ratio’s mission. After all, they weren’t just helping athletes with sustainable training. They were helping all kinds of people, with all sorts of priorities, some who consider themselves athletes, and some who don’t.
Today, Strength Ratio strives to empower everyone, everywhere with sustainable training. It now comprises over 200 team members across the globe.
